What is Gold Label Pond Sealer?

Gold Label Pond Sealer is a powerful underwater sealant designed to repair holes and tears in pond liners without draining the water. It’s non-toxic, solvent-free, and contains no isocyanates, making it completely safe for fish and aquatic life. Ideal for butyl pond liners, it bonds effectively to a wide range of surfaces.

What materials can it bond with?

This heavy-duty sealant from Gold Label works with various materials including butyl rubber, vinyl, plastic, ceramic, concrete, wood, and glass. It’s perfect for patching pond liners and also for sealing bottom drains, tank connectors, pipe inlets, and surface skimmers.

How do I apply it?

Clean the surface of any algae, grease, or debris. Apply the sealer directly using a standard sealant gun. For joints that may move due to expansion or contraction, leave a 2mm bead thickness between surfaces. As the product is fish-safe, there’s no need to remove fish during curing. It begins to tack in 24 hours and continues to cure over 7 days.

Tips for better adhesion to pond liners:

When sealing to a liner, avoid pressing the surfaces together too firmly, as this can prevent proper curing. Instead, apply a 5mm bead and gently position the patch or object, ensuring there’s a 2–5mm layer of sealant between surfaces.

When can I refill my pond?

If the repair is on the side of the pond, you can refill immediately. For repairs on the base, allow at least 24 hours before refilling.
