External Filters

External filters sit outside your aquarium, giving you powerful filtration without taking up space in the tank. With only the inlet and outlet pipes inside, your fish get more room to swim, while the large media capacity delivers excellent mechanical, biological and chemical filtration. They run quietly and are the go-to choice for larger aquariums, planted tanks and heavily stocked setups.

Most external filters are tucked neatly away inside an aquarium cabinet, keeping your setup tidy and making maintenance easy. When it's time to refresh your filter, you'll find replacement sponges, biological media and carbon in our filter consumables range. Need help matching a filter to your tank size?
