It all began in 1965
Initially starting in Liverpool as family business, Water World was derived from the love of the hobby and opened the first store on Smithdown Road.
during the 1970's
Over the coming year, Water World excelled and opened more stores in Liverpool & Chester. When our current store on the Wirral become available, these stores are closed and moved to the Wirral site. to be come one of the largest aquatic stores of its type.
in the 1980's
The Wirral store grew from strength to strength, with the fish keeping hobby becoming evermore popular and more accessible. More veriaties of fish and array of colours.
1990 till 2000's
With the help of TV shows like 'Ground Force' water gardening was at its peak, with everyone wanting a pond or water feature in the garden. Water World is now one of the largest Pet & Aquatic Centres in the UK importing beautiful fish from all around the globe.
Launching our first online store in the early 2000, Water World was now being seen by people all over the country.
2020's and onwards
Water World is still today a family run business and still on the up with more people visiting us in store and online.
In 2021, we welcomed another family business to run our busy coffee shop. Lilypad Café was opened.
We are still sourcing from all over the world to enable to give the best quality products.
